Mahdi Ansari
I am an applied macroeconomist with interests in digital economy, labor economics, and firm dynamics.
Currently, I am an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Management and Economics at Sharif University of Technology, and a research fellow at the Heller-Hurwicz Economics Institute at the University of Minnesota.
Prior to my current academic positions, I worked at policy institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and the Governance & Policy Think Tank in Tehran. Furthermore, I have advised businesses, both domestically and internationally, on a range of issues, including antitrust, M&A, customer engagement, and digital transformation.
I earned my PhD in Economics in 2023 and my MA in Economics in 2020, both at the University of Minnesota. I received my MS in Economics in 2017 and my BS in Electrical Engineering in 2014, both at Sharif University of Technology.
